I heard a cute quote once that stated “yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that is why it is called ‘the present’”. I found a whimsical, yet potent resonance with this because, truly, every day is a gift. We wake up each morning with every and all possibilities ahead of us, and it is up to us to choose how we go about our day.
With that being said, what is your present presence? How are you going through your day? Do you find yourself in a state of gratitude, or are you taking things for granted?
When we are living in a state of gratitude, graciousness, and giving we are able to fully appreciate our surroundings and can be present in each moment. When we are taking things for granted and fixating on what we don’t have, what we don’t want, what we can’t do…all these negative words create a “buzz” of negative energy, and close us off from living in the present moment. “Can’t”, “don’t”, “won’t”, etc. all create an anxiety about the future/past that literally brings about a blockade of being your best present presence.
Today, I challenge you to look at your present moment, take inventory of your present presence, and present your ultimate self to the world, regardless of what you think you “can’t” have or “don’t” want…I want you to remove those words from your vocabulary and focus on the “can”, and “will” and especially thank all that you do have.
The more you live in this moment, the better each day will become. Allow your present presence to make every moment a gift.
